Bokashi means fermented organic matter in Japanese. It is an ingenious Japanese system that ferments all your kitchen waste and transforms it into the true organic fertilizer. The VermiTek Bokashi composting kit includes one piece of 5 gal bucket with strainer and spigot, Bokashi juice cup and compactor, and one piece of 3/4 gal kitchen compost pail. Bokashi composting uses a selected group of microorganisms to anaerobically ferment organic waste. The microorganisms are applied using an impregnation carrier such as rice or wheat bran. The fermentation process breaks down the organic matters with very minimum odor. Since the process is done in a closed system, there will be no worry about insects and smells.
